Private Study Instruction
Private study is available for beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
Private lessons will be scheduled individually for the mutual convenience of the teacher and student.
Lessons are scheduled once per week for six weeks in the summer session.
Private lessons are 30 minutes in length.
Students must provide their own instruments and have access to an instrument in order to practice. The University of Delaware does not rent or sell instruments.
Teaching Faculty
The UD Community Music School has three levels of teaching faculty.
Junior Faculty: University of Delaware music students who have been carefully selected for their musicianship and ability to teach. Junior Faculty are assisted by their own private instructor to ensure the quality of the music instruction being offered.
Professional Faculty: Area music teachers with extensive experience teaching music in a private studio setting and/or in regional private and public schools. All members of the Professional Faculty hold degrees or certificates in music.
Artist Faculty: University of Delaware Department of Music Faculty. Those wishing to study at this level may be asked to audition to ensure proper placement. You will be contacted after your registration is received to discuss the details.
Tuition
Private instruction is offered on a semester basis. The summer semester lasts 6 weeks.
